Start in the Ozarks where you can experience everything from mountain-town dives to modern rooftop bars. In Fayetteville’s Dickson Street district, George’s Majestic Lounge stands as the state’s oldest music venue and a cornerstone of live entertainment, while Maxine’s Tap Room is known for its warm atmosphere and rotating seasonal cocktail menus.

Bentonville’s bar scene blends art, design and nightlife with favorites like Tower Bar, Undercroft, The Preacher’s Son’s hidden bar and Scotch & Soda, known for its relaxed vintage vibe. Eureka Springs’ downtown pubs and patios, like Chelsea’s Corner Cafe and Voodoo Lounge bring together locals and travelers for laid-back nights and colorful conversation.

Head south along Interstate 49 to the River Valley and stop at Fort Smith Brewing Co. which pairs small-batch beer with community events. Then, make your way to Pridgen Family Brewing, which started in a family shop and carries that theme with a family-friendly atmosphere.

Next, drive east to Central Arkansas and stop in Little Rock, where Lost Forty Brewing’s lagers and small-batch beers pair perfectly with hearty Southern fare. The Capital Hotel’s lobby bar offers classic cocktails in a setting that feels timeless, while White Water Tavern delivers a legendary dive experience with worn wooden floors that have hosted some of the best Americana music in the South.

A little further south in Hot Springs, The Ohio Club holds the title of Arkansas’ oldest bar, open since 1905 and once welcoming guests like Al Capone and Mae West. Nearby, Maxine’s Live keeps the city’s nightlife humming with cocktails, music and a lively local crowd.
