A day on the lake

Ouachita is a massive wilderness lake, distinguished by its pristine beauty and untouched shoreline. Even during the peak season, the lake never feels crowded. The award-winning marina can get you out on the lake with everything you need, beginning with a rental fleet including new party barges with slides, a high performance ski barge, fishing boat rental and a great variety of kayaks, canoes and SUPs. DreamChaser Houseboats lets you take your vacation on the water with luxury houseboats and jet skis. Fishing on Lake Ouachita is legendary! Rent the custom fishing boat with trolling motor and depth finder. Ask for the latest fishing report or hire a professional guide who will put you on all the “honey holes”. Harbor also has an on-site dive shop, Ocean Extreme, to get you out on exciting underwater adventures.

From the moment you walk onto the deck of Turtle Cove Spa, you immediately feel more relaxed. Nestled in a wilderness cove, the spa is designed to reflect the beauty, harmony and tranquility of the lake. The menu includes not only traditional treatments, but also offers unique Eastern and European elements like sound therapy, grounding rituals and chakra balancing using native Arkansas quartz. The spa offers a holistic approach to wellness with the purpose of leaving you feeling aligned, centered and grounded.

After a day of adventure, Mountain Harbor offers all the comfort you expect from a luxury resort, but with a casual, relaxed vibe. The Lodge itself feels nostalgic, as if you’ve been here before, even it it’s your first visit. Built in 1957, the Lodge maintains the original mid-century architecture of the era and all the charm, including the charming courtyard with it’s “tad pole” kids pool, as well as a beautiful stone fireplace and rock fire pit, both with comfy seating areas for making smores or just enjoying the warmth at night. The sparkling Lodge pool has welcomed generations to its refreshing water. The Lodge sits at the center of the 900 plus acre property, and contains the Lodge Restaurant and is surrounded by lake side Guest Rooms, Studios, poolside Cabanas and the Lodge Cottages. For RV travelers there are seven full hook-up sites available with shady, forest views or lake views.

At check-in, you’ll receive a map of the entire property, showing you the way to your accommodations and where you can find the marina, spa, horseback riding, hiking trails and all things fun! The property is pet friendly, so feel free to bring every member of your family.

Guests can choose from a wide range of locations, pricing and size in accommodations – everything from a lake Guest Room or economic Joplin Inn motel rooms to luxury log sided cottages, two houses and log-sided condos. Every unit has been individually decorated to reflect an eclectic, casual style with quality and comfort highlighted for a restful sleep.

Harbor signature cabins on the lake’s edge will wow you with their gracious design, lake-themed décor, and thoughtfully designed kitchens and bathrooms. An exquisite four-bedroom cabin, C25, includes works of art and design by “Harbor Kids” – craftsmen who grew up around Mountain Harbor and are now bringing their skills and vision back to the Harbor community. Harbor has many beautiful, themed units, including our Couple’s Cottage with a giant indoor jacuzzi with a stone surround, the Daisy cottage with a fun BB gun theme and our Fireman’s Cottage, a cottage with a tribute to our military. All reflect the laid back, casual comfort of the lake and surrounding forest.
