When you make a trip to Historic Washington State Park in Washington make sure you visit the Coulter Farmstead’s Wolff Mercantile. The shop is a shopper’s dream, filled with everything from candles and candies to unique finds like a color-it-yourself space explorer pillowcase, complete with washable pens so it can be used again and again. And then it gets even better. Nearly everything you’ll find inside, aside from Moon Pies, Goo-Goo Clusters and drinks, is made by someone the owner, Brad Hauser, personally knows. The result is a thoughtfully curated collection of his favorite things, and a place that feels as personal as it is memorable.
Established in 1871
The original Wolff General Store was established in 1871 in nearby Bingen and run by the same family for over a century. The building was raised and relocated onto the farmstead and completely restored. With over 2,500-square-feet, Hauser has plans to add a café featuring coffee, ice cream, sandwiches and desserts in the near future. The very back of the historic general store will become a unique studio rental.
