Arkansas State Parks provide an opportunity to commemorate the new year outdoors with First Day Hikes on Jan. 1, 2025.

Arkansas State Parks announced the launch of a groundbreaking initiative to make state parks more accessible to all visitors with the introduction of the Action Trackchair at Logoly State Park.

Today, First Gentleman Bryan Sanders, Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism (ADPHT) Secretary Shea Lewis, Representative Mary Bentley and other key partners, celebrated the dedication of a new playground and pump track at the Lake Sylvia Recreation Area.

On Friday, September 27, a guest visiting Arkansas’ Crater of Diamonds State Park found a 2.30-carat white diamond in the park’s 37.5-acre diamond search area. This is the third diamond over two carats registered this year and the second-largest diamond registered in 2024. 

There is nothing better than memories made while spending quality time with family. For Will and Marshall Barnett, of Buckeye, AZ, a recent father-and-son trip to Arkansas’ famous Crater of Diamonds State Park resulted in the story of a lifetime and the second-largest diamond registered so far this year.
