What to know

Arkansas’ largest lake, Lake Ouachita, offers 40,000 acres of clear, clean water surrounded by the scenic Ouachita National Forest. Swimming, skiing, scuba diving, boating, kayaking, and fishing are enjoyed here. Bream, crappie, catfish, striped bass, and largemouth bass can be caught in open waters or quiet coves. Visitors can choose from a wide variety of day-use areas and overnight accommodations.

The park has 93 campsites (58 Class AAA, 23 Class D, and 12 walk-in tent sites), some located right on the water. Eight fully equipped cabins with kitchens and the comforts of home overlook the lake. Four camper cabins offer an affordable option within the campground. Guests should bring their own linens, cooler, and cooking supplies. They include one sleeping room for four, a screened porch, heating and air conditioning, a picnic table, an outdoor grill, and a lantern hanger with a bathhouse located nearby. All camper cabins are dog-friendly, and two full service cabins are pet friendly.

Other facilities include the Caddo Bend and Dogwood trails, picnic tables, swimming areas, and a marina with boat rentals, bait, and supplies. The historic Three Sisters’ Springs is located within the park. Exhibits and a gift shop are available inside the visitor center. Interpretive programs, such as guided hikes, eagle cruises, and kayak tours, are offered year-round. Boat tours operate throughout the year, and kayaking programs are offered during the spring and summer. The state park is located near Hot Springs and Hot Springs Village.

Full Service Cabins

The full-service cabins at Lake Ouachita State Parks have all the amenities guests need for a relaxing getaway including satellite television, heat and air conditioning, full kitchens with cookware and dinnerware. Linens are provided in these cabins. Outdoor seating is also provided. (See cabin photos)
