Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park is one of four National Historic Landmarks within the Arkansas State Park system and represents the largest and most complex mound site in the state. Formerly known as Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park, the site preserves a remarkable prehistoric Native American ceremonial landscape that continues to shape our understanding of the region’s history.

In addition to exploring the monumental earthen mounds, visitors have the rare opportunity to observe archeological research in progress, offering insight into how knowledge of the site continues to evolve. Long recognized as a popular field trip destination for local schools, the park offers guided tour opportunities by advance request.

Located approximately four miles from Scott, Arkansas, Plum Bayou Mounds is an easy and scenic drive from Little Rock, making it an accessible destination for both educational visits and public exploration.
